EQUINE SERVICES

Dr. Neaderland accepts equine appointments on a scheduled basis.  Depending on the urgency of the appointment and location of the horse, several options are available for this examination. Horses come to us from all over New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.   If the horse needs to be seen on an emergency basis, the horse should be brought directly to our hospital and examined on site.  Equine exams are performed daily at our hospital.  We have available parking for the large commercial horse trailers and our close proximity to Connecticut's Interstate 95 , at exit 14, makes shipping horses to us convenient. Nonemergency exams can also be performed at our hospital. Dr. Neaderland also regularly schedules equine appointments at the New England Equine Practice (NEEP) in Patterson, NY, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  NEEP is owned and operated by Dr. William Bradley. This excellent equine hospital  is conveniently located on Route 22, 8 miles North of the intersection of Interstates 684 and 84 in New York and is the surgical facility  of choice for the ophthalmic procedures performed on horses by  Dr. Neaderland. If a horse in stabled within a 45 minute drive from  Norwalk, Dr. Neaderland can arrange for a barn visit.

There are ophthalmic disease conditions or post operative treatment protocols for horses that require intensive medical treatment to achieve the most favorable outcome.  Round the clock care for horses is usually not possible at normal stables.  This type of treatment can be arranged through us at New England Equine Practice where necessary rechecks by Dr. Neaderland can be arranged.
